AREDS II has been the go-to multivitamin for Macular Degeneration for years due to the original AREDS study and then followed by the AREDS II study and then further confirm with another 3800 participants study confirming the effectiveness of it against Macular Degeneration with Lutein and Zeaxanthin that is in AREDS II in 2022. Bausch and Lomb just came out with a new formula of AREDS II which has Ocusorb. The clinical study showed with 90 participants that serum levels of lutein and Zeaxanthin (the major ingredient in AREDS II) were 2.5 times higher with lutein and 1.8 times higher with zeaxanthin compared to the traditional method of lutein and zeaxanthin without Ocusorb. Meaning an increased amount of lutein and zeaxanthin in the body to help the eyes and less of it going down the toilet. This could be a game changer where the original dosage showed a decrease in odds of moderate macular degeneration changing to wet macular degeneration by 30%! This may decrease those odds more but only time will tell to show if this increases the effectiveness of AREDS II but I'm optimistic!
